As part of my new podcast season, TAROT 2021, I’ve been pulling a card for each week of the new year.

The tarot is a way of understanding what is happening in our physical and metaphysical world, but it is important to remember that the foundation of the tarot deck is always LOVE.

This week’s card is Justice. Here are some basics:

  1. In the Tarot, Justice is part of the Major Arcana. When you meet the Archetype of Justice on your path, you are asked to look at areas in your life that are in or out of balance. This is subject to your interpretation and analysis of your own life situations.
  2. The image on the card is what we in modern times would identify as Lady Justice with her scales. The Scales of Justice represent the balance of the individual against the needs of society and a fair balance between interests of one individual and those of another. The personification of justice balancing the scales dates back to the Egyptian goddess of Justice, Maat, who stood for truth and fairness.
  3. The words are fairness, truth and law. You are asked to perceive fairness, not only through your own personal lens, but through the lens of society.  Truth is, essentially, love. Law is interpreted as there are natural laws that create a structure for our human lives. Thomas Aquinas’ Natural Law Theory contains four different types of law: Eternal Law, Natural Law, Human Law and Divine Law. Any of these could come into play when you pull the Justice card.
  4. The figure of justice sits in front of a purple veil. The veil represents the higher truth that is love. She stands between two pillars. The pillars represent the structure of human law. The veil and the pillars together represent the positive, negative, and neutral. The pillars are positive and negative and the veil is neutral. All just decisions include and consider all three.
  5. When the Justice card appears for you in a reading, you are at a crossroads or an important choice. The card is asking you to understand all the repercussions of your choice. This card asks you to ultimately understand what truth means to you.

You may be new to Tarot—It is really important to be doing your own spiritual, mental, emotional and physical development in order to be clear enough to pull cards that give you good intuitive guidance. This is the same with all intuitive tools.

When I pull tarot cards, I am actively using a pendulum and my own intuition in order to know what the right card is for the questioner, even if the questioner is myself. If you need guidance with Tarot, or if you would like me to do a personal reading for you, please schedule a session.
