With Veterans Day happening this week, we wanted to suggest some ways that you could honor a veteran’s service.

  • Donate time, money or supplies to a local Veteran’s Day drive.
  • Spread the Word: If you know of an organization that wants to help veterans, encourage them to register with the National Resource Directory so that wounded, ill, and injured service members and their families can access information about the services provided.
  • Volunteer in Your Own Community: Get involved with local organizations in your hometown to make a difference in the lives of wounded warriors and their families.
  • Volunteer to help a local Veteran’s Service Organization.

  • Do a project about Veterans with young children or grandchildren. For example, let them make their own Veteran’s flag and plant it in a pot of flowers in front of your house.
  • Hang a flag in your yard.
  • Take a moment to reflect on what it means to live in the USA.
  • Write in a gratitude journal about how grateful and thankful you are for the services of our Veterans.

However you’re inspired to show your gratitude, do it with intention and a full heart. If you’re a veteran reading this, thank you for what you’ve done for our country.
